Terms of Service
Last updated · 4 July 2026
01. Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and The Legal Continuum (“we”, “us”, or “our”) governing your access to and use of our websites, applications, and services (collectively, the “Platform”).
By creating an account, accessing, or using the Platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.
If you use the Platform on behalf of a law firm, chambers, organisation, or another person, you represent that you are authorised to accept these Terms on their behalf, and “you” refers to that entity.
02. Definitions
“User” means any individual who accesses the Platform. “Advocate” means a User enrolled with a Bar Council of Pakistan. “Client Data” means any documents, case files, or personal information you upload or generate on the Platform. “AI Output” means any summary, draft, analysis, risk score, prediction, or other content produced by the Platform’s automated systems.
03. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract under the laws of Pakistan to use the Platform.
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when registering and to keep it up to date. You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
You must notify us promptly at hello@thelegalcontinuum.com of any unauthorised use of your account or any other breach of security.
04. The service
The Platform provides AI-assisted legal research, document analysis, drafting, case management, hearing tracking, and client-portal tools oriented to Pakistani law and procedure.
We may add, modify, or discontinue features at any time. We will use reasonable efforts to give notice of material changes that adversely affect core functionality.
05. AI outputs are not legal advice
The Platform is a decision-support tool. AI Output is generated by automated systems and may be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect. It does not constitute legal advice and does not create a lawyer–client relationship between you and us.
You, as the qualified legal practitioner, remain solely responsible for independently reviewing, verifying, and exercising professional judgement over any AI Output before relying on it, filing it, or advising a client. You must not present AI Output as professional advice without that review.
Citations, statutes, and case references produced by the Platform must be checked against authoritative primary sources before use in any court or filing.
06. Acceptable use
You agree not to: (a) use the Platform for any unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purpose; (b) upload content you have no right to process; (c) attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or interfere with the Platform or its security; (d) resell or sublicense access without our written consent; or (e) use the Platform to generate content that is defamatory, infringing, or designed to mislead a court.
We may investigate and take appropriate action, including suspension or termination, against any suspected violation of this section or applicable law, including the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016.
07. Your content and client data
You retain all rights in your Client Data. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, process, and transmit your Client Data solely to operate and provide the Platform to you.
You represent that you have all necessary rights, consents, and lawful authority to upload Client Data and to have it processed by the Platform, and that doing so does not breach any duty of confidentiality, privilege, or applicable law.
Sharing within a firm workspace is under your control: cases, clients, and documents are private to you unless you explicitly share them with your whole firm or with specific colleagues, and you may revoke sharing at any time. Uploaded originals are stored privately and served only through short-lived, per-user signed links.
08. Confidentiality and professional obligations
We treat your Client Data as confidential and apply the safeguards described in our Privacy Policy. However, you remain responsible for complying with your own professional, ethical, and statutory obligations — including those of the Pakistan Bar Council and provincial Bar Councils — when using the Platform with client matters.
09. Intellectual property
The Platform, including its software, design, branding, and content (excluding your Client Data), is owned by The Legal Continuum and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the Platform in accordance with these Terms.
You may not use our trademarks or branding without our prior written consent.
10. Subscriptions, billing, and refunds
Paid plans are billed in Pakistani Rupees (PKR) on a recurring basis via the payment methods we support, including JazzCash and card. Fees are stated on our pricing page and may change with prior notice.
You may upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you will retain access until then. Except where required by law, fees already paid are non-refundable.
11. Third-party services
The Platform relies on third-party providers for hosting, authentication, payments, and AI processing. Your use of those features may be subject to the providers’ terms. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of third-party providers.
12. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Platform and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the Platform or other users.
Deleting your account from Settings removes your account and all Client Data immediately and permanently — there is no recovery window, so export anything you need first. If we terminate your access for breach, we will, where lawful and practicable, allow a reasonable export window before deletion. The full retention schedule is set out in our Privacy Policy.
13. Disclaimers
The Platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI Output will be accurate or complete.
14. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Legal Continuum shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from reliance on AI Output without independent professional review.
Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Platform shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
15. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Legal Continuum and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising out of your Client Data, your use of the Platform, or your breach of these Terms or applicable law.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The courts of Pakistan shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Platform.
Before commencing formal proceedings, the parties will attempt in good faith to resolve any dispute by negotiation.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated in-app or by email and will take effect on the date stated. Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
